- Capital letters (A, B, C…)
- Lowercase letters (a, b, c …)
- Numbers (0,1, 2, 3…)

- Sequential characters (abcd, 1234, …) should not be used in your password.

- Your password should not include your first name, last name or any other personal information.
- Your password must not contain another user's username.
- Your university email address should not be used on platforms such as social media, electronic shopping, food ordering, banking, etc.
- Care must be taken to ensure that the passwords you define for systems and applications used for personal purposes (personal e-mail, banking, e-commerce pages, etc.) are different from the password you define for your University e-mail account.
- Password information should not be included in email messages or any electronic form.
- Passwords should not be stored in a printed or electronic format and should never be shared with anyone else.
- Necessary precautions must be taken to prevent anyone else from learning your password. If you suspect that someone else has learned your password, you must change your password immediately and inform the Information Security Office.
- In addition to the technical security measures taken to ensure password security, you should not use easily guessable personal information (your favorite team, spouse/child name, school information, etc.) in your password.
